Choosing My Favourite Albums of the Decade

I’m going to pick 10 (possibly 20) of my favourite albums of the last decade.  Not necessarily a critical review of the last 10 years of music a la the P2K, but albums that shaped quite an important period in my life (from 15 to 25) and have cut across the range of genres that I still listen to today. 

Here’s some rough criteria call it dogma, that I’m going to follow, maybe you can do the same?

They have to have been released in the UK between 1st Jan. 2000 and the present day.

Each genre of music that you would call yourself a ‘fan of’ must be included.

Try to distribute the choice of albums evenly across the decade.  Don’t topload it (no pun intended) with stuff from the last few years because you’re too embarressed to admit that the first Turin Breaks album was important to you.

Give a little explanation of each choice.

That’s it.  I’m already hard at work on my list.  Shouldn’t you be too?
